FAQ

  • The most common side effects include headache, respiratory infection, flu syndrome, temporary eyelid droop, and nausea. Less frequently occurring (<3%) adverse reactions include pain in the face, erythema at the injection site, and muscle weakness.

  • Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Prior to injecting dysport (our Anti-Wrinkle) treatment, you may choose to apply numb cream to the area one hour prior to the treatment. The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes. Many people return directly to work or normal activity following our Anti-Wrinkle treatments.

  • Results from anti-wrinkle treatments take about 10-14 days to fully show and are generally long-lasting between 3-4 months. Results will vary from patient to patient.

  • Although the results are visible, our Anti-Wrinkle treatment will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you’ve ‘had work done’. The muscles that allow you to frown or move your face (expression) is reduced, results will vary person to person and cannot be guaranteed.

  • Dermal fillers work to plump up and create scaffolding in the facial anatomy. They help retain the softness, fullness and structure to the facial features.

Dermal fillers, repair the damage that has already resulted by creating additional plumping beneath the wrinkle or in the hollowed-out or thin area to fill it in, smooth it out, and help it return to its previous youthful appearance.

  • When a dermal filler is injected into the skin, the main side effect is bruising. There are some areas that will bruise more easily than others. The side effects (redness, swelling, pain and headaches) are typically immediate, but generally subside within 7 to 14 days.

  • Fillers don’t usually hurt. A lot of my patients experience little to no pain during the procedure because of the numbing cream. Despite the fact that the results are noticeable right away, you should give fillers some time to settle after injection. It's typical to experience a few days of considerable swelling, followed by up to two weeks of extremely minor redness. I advise patients wait 2 weeks before making judgments on the outcome.

  • Dermal fillers are predominantly made out of hyaluronic acid. Our skin contains natural hyaluronic acid. It keeps skin moisturised and plump. Hyaluronic acid fillers often have a soft, gel-like texture. As the name ‘filler’ suggests, they fill the skin, giving it more volume and creating a plump appearance.

The body progressively and naturally absorbs the substance which means the treatment lasts for approximately 6 to 12 months.
